UX Challenges
To understand the user I approached them in two ways. First,  quantitative research through surveys. Secondly, qualitative interviews.  These insights gave first-hand information into potential users' jewellery purchases.
An early assumption was purchasing jewellery was the same as buying any product. However, it was found users are hesitant to buy jewellery without seeing it and trying it on. Also, people who purchase jewellery as a present prioritise convenience.
This led to the understanding of key user pain points. Once I gathered this information, user personas where created and problem statements were clearly defined

User Research: Pain Points
Online shopping for jewellery can be inconvenient.
Product photos need to clearly show jewellery in a range of different ways.
Product information is not always available.
Trying on jewellery in the store can be a very personal experience, applications need to capture this experience.
Convenience
It can be hard to browse jewellery in a store and think about the purchase, with everything going on around you.
Photography
Showing the product in a range of different ways with a slide show allows the user to view the product in different settings.
Large photos also help to make the product more appealing, as the user doesn't have to struggle to see them.
Information
Product information is very important, as some customers may be allergic to different components of the jewellery.
Personal
Trying on the items in the store can make or break a sale. The mirror based on the functionality that is more commonly used with a phone camera.
The user would be able to access any “favourited” product in the mirror option. Holding the centred product creates a snapshot.

Impact
The app allows users to purchase Jewellery in their own time and place.

“I really like it [the app], it makes it so easy to see all the jewellery, the details as well are great as well, I’m allergic to some materials, so it’s need to know information!”
Reflection
As this project was created over a period of lockdown and safe distancing. I learned new ways to communicate and interview. although being in the room for interviews can make things easier, it is not the only way to do things. This lead me to familiarise myself with different applications such as Zoom and Miiro.
